I was searching for C. W. Ammens book, look what I found

I have been searching for C. W. Ammen's book "Recovery & Refining of precious metals" and look what I found.

So now I am wondering if this Ammen has anything to do with the more modern Ammen. I have spent a lot of time in the Middle East, and I realize that Ammen is a common name, but this seems like a very odd coincidence for there to be two Ammens both having written books on Metallurgy.

Just curious, I'm not going to pay almost 5k Euro for any book. It is very interesting though.

Looked at your search results link. The book was written in 1689 by Johann Grosse Leipzig. Did not see the name Ammen anywhere.

I ended up picking up a used copy of E. M. Wise "Gold, recovery, properties and applications" from someone who picked up a bunch of old, used books from the University of Michigan, I was hoping to find another book that way, the price I paid was fair, and the book is in very good condition, certainly readable. Maybe you would know this, are there copies of Ammen's book in hardback? I have only seen soft, and paper backs.

There was someone on eBay selling their entire lot of gold refining equipment, I emailed him a few times about buying just the books, but he was having none of it. He did say he had all three I was looking for, and many more. I would really like to find someone like that who is retiring, or moving into a different hobby, who would be willing to sell their library of recover, refining and process books all together. I think that's a pipe dream though.

Thanks for the information and the link, and setting me straight on the author of that particular book. It looks interesting, I'm really curious what it actually reads, but I don't read German, so it's a complete loss for me.
