I processed a very small sample of 150 mesh dirt from a known gold bearing area. Although I didn’t see any visible gold in the concentrates, the bottom spot plate is the result of the stannous test. I’m questioning it because the entire drop didn’t turn purple. Just a precipitate in the bottom of the droplet. Has anyone had a positive test result which looks like a precipitate?

(The top spot plate drop is from my gold bearing solution that I use to confirm my stannous is still good)

Yes although small that looks like a positive test.

Thank you for the reply. After I posted, I thought it may have been better to post this in the prospecting/mining thread. I’m excited to see what comes of a larger sample. This was just a few grains left from the concentrates through my blue bowl.
