I’m Jeff and I've been mostly lurking around the forum and finding answers to my questions. I thought it was time to introduce myself. I got into smelting about 15 years ago, working mostly with copper and precious metals. I tried making bronze and doing some sand casting a few times. As a kid, we would either find an electric motor in a trash can or be given one and strip off the copper wire and sell it. When we got enough metal, then go to the junk yard in town.
About a year ago, I started working with e-scrap as it was easier on my shoulder and had better yields. I made a fume hood with a fan. I bought 50 pounds of motherboards and depopulated them, then sorted the components. Which was my first job in computers, 40+ years ago. So I guess I have come full circle.
I want to thank everyone for all the great ideas and fixes!
