I have searched the forum for answers to my question to no avail. :oops:

I was buying pallets of store returns and reselling them,which I no longer do.
I have coffee makers,bread makers, rice cookers, small heaters etc;
that are not working, and I wanted to know if any of this type of appliance has any PM's worth scrapping for.
Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction re; advice or previous posts that I have missed.
Regards Duke

Rule of thumb, if it plugs in, pull it apart to find something.
Every touch keypad has something. Alot are silver. Everything that has a switch, look inside and hopefully more silver. Most have circuit boards so look for them. Heck, pull copper wire and motors and aluminum and...and...You get the idea. Scrap the metals so you at least get something out of all that left over stuff.
BS.
Nothing using electricity is safe around me...

If they are still in boxes you will make lots more money selling them to a person that repairs small appliances. Most manufacturers know that a certain amount is coming back, due to the tolerances that they used on there parts. Say I have a resistor with a 10% fail rate I know that 10% of my product will be returned to me. This is true on all product you buy and why buying a refurbished electronic is allot of the time a better deal. Most of the time the manufacture will give a better warranty on the refurbished and the problems are fixed.

As for PMs there will be little to none in those. If you are already going to tear them apart for scrap than look, but for the most part they are just base metal mines.

Thanks Etac, I tried that, there were two locally that repaired them, but they closed shop.
Guess we are really in a throw and replace society now.

Duke,
most appliances are easy to fix. Especially if new. Alot of common failures have videos on YouTube on how to fix. If you have a steady supply, become the guy who fixes them. Sell at half retail, make a fortune.

Derek.
