Hello!

I am a newbie to gold refining but not chemistry. I am in my thirties and have been tinkering with chemistry and electronics for the last 20 years or so in my free time.

I'm really excited to get to learn more from the people in these forums, and I hope maybe I can find a way to make a little extra money from some of the ridiculous amounts of e waste I come across in my normal travels.

Anywhere, thanks for having me and I hope we can come to some neat discoveries together.

Greetings budding mad scientist. I'm an old mad scientist who got tired of genetically-engineering mice and decided to dabble with alchemy!
That is super freaking cool.

I agree so much with the alchemy aspect of this. I'm getting a polyprolene blue wizard hat made with gold stars embedded Ala fantasia for my mass precipitation if I can scale this up to a small business one day

Welcome to us.
Here is what we have decoded and you need to study as you so eloquently worded in your other thread:

1. Read C.M. Hokes book on refining jewelers scrap, it gives an easy introduction to the most important chemistry regarding refining.
It is free here on the forum: Screen Readable Copy of Hoke's Book
2. Then read the safety section of the forum: Safety
3. And then read about "Dealing with waste" in the forum: Dealing with Waste

Suggested reading: The Library
