I’m doing a batch of gold filled and a lot of the material are eyeglasses that are magnetic. I came across some before and I was able to peel the gold filled tube off the magnetic material which I guess is stainless steel?
This time I have a bunch of magnetic frames and the nitric doesn’t touch it. Any ideas how I should proceed or is the best way to physically remove the gold . I guess there is a base coat on top of the steel that dissolves in nitric which made the gold tubes slide off.
