I've been making custom jewelry and repairing jewelry for 35 years and have dabbled in refining a bit. I think I have made some costly mistakes in reining but the experience is good. I'd like to learn from others experience and help others so we can reduce the mistakes.

Welcome to the forum Dan. There are a number of old jewelry dogs here. To get you started, be sure to download a copy of Hoke's book, which you'll find in my signature line. It was written for jewelers, dentists, and other small scale refiners.

I agree welcome to the forum and it's good to see other jewellers on the board.
Daves advice is spot on, Hoke is what you need, it's written for non chemists and makes sense, it covers everything you need to know for your scraps and sweeps.
Good luck and if you get stuck ask.
