Hello,
Im michelle and new! My grandfather was a gold miner, and i am trying to refine the gold ore/ rock... I was left with the when he passed in 1993 and still i amdoing something wrong so i found this forum and maybe someone could help!

Welcome to the forum.
Learn how to take ore samples across the veins and have those assayed to know if the mine is worth it and how to process the ore.
I have no experience with mining but i love watching Jeff Williams on Youtube. For processing and smelting ore you can watch mbmmllc

Do you have the mine - source of more material, or just a pile of material that's been moved to where it is now? The ore that you have that you're trying to process - how much of it do you have - a picture would be good if it's a pile; just a count if 5 gallon buckets which is common.

How are you trying to process it? Do you have any idea how your grandfather processed the ore he mined?
