Cordless Logitech Mouse and Keyboard
OCR - Abbyy FineReader, ver 7.0
Scanner – HP 3970 Flatbed, using USB Port
Pages scanned per minute – 4 & 600 dpi, total pages scanned 690
Finished file size - 4.659 Megs, Time 6 hours
OS – Vista Home Edition, comments crashes 600 pages beyond.
Internet - Dial up, speed 28.8 kps or lower.

The OCR application was set to automatic scan and read with despeckled options, removing background noise, the time delay between scans was 1 sec, the book was placed onto the scanner two pages per scan, upside down. The OCR software corrected page orientation , recognized page breaks creating two separate pages before saving.

Reason the book was feed to the scanner with the page print upside down is because the scanner reads from right to left.

From donations I have funds in the kitty, I would like recommendations for a good book to purchase.
