Hello guys just to get started thanks for letting me check your forum out and I've learned a few new things from this place
As to how I got here I stumbled apon this place after watching some YouTube videos about gold recovery from computers
And I've got a pretty good idea as to how this all works looking forward for suggestions and other misc help that you people
Have to offer

On a second note after checking this forum out I think I made a serious mistake for the first step in the gold recovery process I followed the one guys instructions on the hydrochloric acid and hydrogen peroxide mixture he added equal parts of both and upon starting that process I was under the assumption that all will be okay but alas on digging around on this forum I realized my mistake of doing equal parts HCl and H2O2 is all lost?

Welcome to the forum, this is the worlds best place to learn the complicated craft and art of recovery and refining of precious metals.

It may seem to be simple when all you know about it was something you seen from reading the internet or watching some videos, that is deceiving, the chemistry can be complicated, there is a infinite amount of very small details to learn, to become somewhat successful in these skills, and a man can spend his whole life studying this art and only gain knowledge in a small portion of it.

I am still working on getting the idea how it all works, and will spend many more years learning.

My suggestion begin with Hoke's book.
Guide to the forum, and the general reaction list (found in the general chat section).
And dealing with waste, along with study on safety in that section.
Education is where the gold is.

Nothing is lost, even if you used too much oxidizer (H2O2) which will put gold into solution (undesired reaction), adding more material the copper will replace gold from solution, although it will not look like gold anymore.

Study education is where you get the gold, not from trying something you seen on you tube.
