Hello everyone, I have been on and off this forum for a few years now. I Started with a sucessful refine of sterling to high grade silver. My curiosity peaked after taking a silver casting course. Then i dropped off for a while, back again after finding reliable and basically free source of E-scrap. I finally followed through after multiple extractions, of gold from different sources. AP= gold foils, plated pins melted and then cupeled with lead. Even reverse plating with heat sinks all three processes using mostly hardware store chems. The only free part was the scrap…. Anyways made it out the other side and dropped and melted 2.9 grams. High purity, proud as can be!
Just wanted to introduce myself and encourage any new visitor's to keep at it.
My next round will be scrap gold jewelry, gold filled scrap, bench room fillings and sweeps.
Started again with Better equipment, more intense chemicals (AR) simpler process. higher yield is the goal.
Thanks again, i would have given up long ago had there not been a place to search for trouble shooting posts and advice threads!
