Hi everyone. I'm signing up mostly because I have a bunch of computer scrap that is taking up space in my house. At one time, maybe a decade ago, I thought I was going to refine it myself. Well that never worked out, and since then I keep tearing apart computers when I run across them. I'm considering moving next year and going back to school so to make that less painful I want to get on top of all the junk I have in the house and start clearing it out now rather than the last minute.
I don't have a huge amount, maybe 40 lbs of boards and 1 to 5 pounds each of ceramic processors and ram. 20 or so hard drives too. I thought of using that cashforelectronicscrapusa.com site to unload this, but I'm sure shipping will eat into any money they'd send back. I'm in Kitchener, Ontario, so if anyone local wants to stop by and make me a deal that would be great. I don't feel like messing around with ebay. I can weigh some things and take pictures if anyone is interested.
Also, the hard drives... someone told me if I just take the electronic boards off I can sell them as scrap aluminum at any metal yard. Any truth to that?
