My name is Mike, 65, Computer Engineer by education and an avid researcher from NJ. I have read many of the posts in several categories and am amazed at the wealth of knowledge and courtesy of the membership. I started refining 2 years ago when a box of boards fell over and needed to do something with them. The results were less than desirable. Developed my own process that very closely resembles one in the Hoke. Since I did not have a resource for nitric, started using sodium nitrate solution and sulfuric as a substitute which works reasonably well, if slowly. Also use a sodium nitrate solution, heated, to remove most of the lead/tin solder from pins boards and connectors prior to the acid bath to reduce the non PM's. Have to date recovered several dozen ounces Ag and 4 of Au. Playing with a few platters and catalytic converters to test Pt now. Again thank you all for your knowlede and for sharing it with those of us not so well versed. God bless you all. Mike
