nitric acid 70%

here we have not restrictions to buy nitric acid---but is called nitric acid 42 or 36----the 42 is stronger and when you open the recipient brown fumes comes out--the 36kind is cheaper and those brown fumes do not come out----if ineed 50%water to%50%nitric acid70%--what do i do?increase the quantity of acid with less water?like20water80acid?
please tell me what to do or if i am right using 20%water80%acid42

42 Baume Nitric is 67.5% strength by weight.

36 Baume Nitric is 52.8% strength. by weight.

There are no stupid questions, just stupid answers.

I don't think it will make much difference at those concentrations except take a little longer with 36 Baume. Look at the cost and safety issues and make an educated judgement.
