Hey all, just wanated to say hello before I went off and started asking annoying questions of you all. Just kidding of course (the annoying questions will happen, but not intentionally)!

I'm new to all this and have no background (or understanding) of the processes you folks are using here. I got into e-waste with the goal of one day doing my own recovery. The e-waste side of things is going well now with a steady supply of material coming in, so it's time for me to start working on the end goal.

Don't worry I have been doing my homework, reading this forum and Hoke's until my brain started squishing out my ears. I'm actaully wanting to get going on this stuff and see some practical work instead of just the theory and how to, my brain just works better when I can work in the physical world rather than the theoretical.

Anyway long winded way to say hello, and go easy on me.

Welcome to the forum, you are doing the right thing by reading hokes book and learning the forum. Be patient and all will make sence to you when begain your work. It is fun and exciting, but most of all learn the safety and practice proper personal safety. If you run into something you don't understand by all means ASK! We have the best chemist and engineer's you can find anywhere in the world here to help. Again welcome to the board.

My suggestion, for what it's worth, is to start out with small test runs like Hoke says. Get use to the reactions and the results of those reactions. Make some stannous testing solution, that's your eyes to what's happening. You must know what you have before you can do anything with it. Like you've been told.... SAFETY is your first priority!!!
