Greetings All

OK I have had an idea on dealing with PCB and wanted to run it by the board.

My idea is to
mill the boards by ball mill into dust. (throw in a few pieces of dry ice)
Use a gold pan to float/sink metal away from pcb board material. (it actually works)
Incinerate
Use a magnet on the remaining metal fragments.
Treat remains with nitric
Rinse
Treat remains with HCl.

What ever now remains you refine.

I would only incinerate the material that sank. The float would basically be the pcb board material and masking, not a good incinerate.

I want to incinerate the (hopefully) metal with minor amount of non metal material.

Sounds like a reasonable process. You may find though that the super fine metals will float also, native gold does when this small.

I was thinking of a process like this once and wanted to use a super dense fluid, but they all were way to expensive.
