I have seen many listings on EBAY, but not having any hard info as to gold and other pm content, have neglected to bid again once outbid.

Any help is well appriciated in advance!

If you don't have a handle on what you can get out of it, it's best not to bid. If you do bid you're going up against ignorant people driven by emotion. My only success has been with auctions that go unnoticed. It's a sellers market. If you're buying you're on the wrong side. Sorry I don't have any numbers for ya...

I have setup a network of small computer shops that I go to once a week for the items they might toss in the trash. These they GIVE (for FREEE). I take them home where I begin the process of taking them apart. You could also seek parts and boards from some of the members trying to sell their parts. Look in the for sale section. E-BAY is a ripoff, if you are nt carefull. Seek all auctions and see what the end result is going to be. Remember however the price goes up with shipping and materials to refine the metals. Not to mention you labor and the value you place on it. Many have asked me what the gold costs me to refine if I include my labor... Something to think about.

In my opinion buying scrap off ebay is a lost cause since early January. It is great for selling. I find that people are paying at least the content of content of computer scrap if not more. eg. I recently sold 3 lots of processors and made $430 on under 300 processors. Most of these processors were green plastic and fiber types.

Find free sources of scrap if you are going to refine. or very low cost sources. eg I pay $1 per complete machine at local computer store for as many as I can handle... about 40 per load. From those 40 I instantly make my dollar back per motherboard and the rest of the machine is profit... copper, aluminum, steel etc.

Yeah and with the price of mix scrap steel going up recently you can make decent money on just the cases. Scarp steel here has just gone up to 200$/Ton

Look under " Profit from PM scrap " in this Forum. There are loads of info on the amount of Gold in scrap in many places here. If all else fails ask LazerSteve for a reference to the Tutorials.
