As I just received my magnetic stirrer, had some time I got this stupid idea, since I am the worst gold panner the world has every seen. So I made a short video and later added some steps that you can disregard, this was just a tryout. Don´t forget to sub :D

Marcel,
I really like the idea, an improvement may be with a better pan to perform the separation, maybe with ridges or grooves in the bottom, so the lighter material is moved over the ridges, and gold or more dense material it trapped in the riffles or grooves.

I also like the part of melting the metal with borax to help make the fine powder form beads of the more valuable metals.

Thank you, the video was a nice addition to help explain the idea.

Marcel,

Very nice video and explanation. Someone once told me that you could become a millionaire if you could just invent a new fishing lure that really worked. EVERY fisherman would have to have at least one in his tacklebox. You may be onto something similar. The people who invented the spiral wheel for automatic gold panning sell them for what I consider to be an exhorbitant price, even though they probably cost very little to manufacture. I purchased one simply because I know I'm not very good at panning. I suspect that as minor bugs and glitches are worked out of your method, you may have more orders than you could fill.

Two things that came to mind for me, was: One, if you get a length of aquarium airline tubing, you could start a siphon and suck up the lighter pieces starting at the outside of your pan. Two, if you would classify (sort through sieves with various size meshes) you would process according to size first, then your process would sort according to density. All pieces of the same relative size would then be density sorted by the liquid medium against other pieces of the same size. I know this works for a fact because I classify all paydirt that goes through my spiral wheel before it is ever put into the wheel for final sorting. Personally, I would reprocess all the stuff that I siphoned out just to make doubly sure I didn't lose any values.

Thanks for your idea and keep us informed.
