Hi,
I have a small bucket of trimmed fingers, most of which are low quality ones bought a couple years ago in a moment of beginner ignorance. I figured I'd finally try and recover what little gold there is off these things, not expecting much. I have them in a fresh batch of AP that's been soaking for about 4 weeks that over time nicely turned the normal dark green colour.
I just got back from being away from work and was thinking of filtering it. On opening the bucket today though, the solution went clear. Huh? I've processed a few batches of higher quality fingers over time and never seen this.
Looking at the fingers in the now clear solution, I could see some gold still adhering to some fingers so thought another cap full of Peroxide to add O2 couldn't hurt. As soon as the peroxide hit the solution though, it immediately turned dark green again. Once again, I've never seen this.
So, the question is, what exactly is going on here?
Thanks,
