Picked this up from a collector of old computer parts. I have been trying to find information on it. All I was told that it may have come from Kwajalein. And Info would be great, also up for sale or trade. RCA A628

Might be old TV broadcast equipment. Looks similar to things I've found doing tower decoms.

Above is an RCA tube datasheet for the tube. "Useful Power Output = 2000W" so, yeah Amateur Service AM operation.....made after 1968 (that "new" RCA logo came out in 1968.)
By the way, that ceramic core is likely BeO (beryllium oxide), so take the necessary precautions and don't grind or otherwise pulverize the BeO ceramic into dust that can be inhaled. We used to hammer them apart after a good spraying with water. You can dispose of solid BeO in regular municipal trash here if double bagged.
