Much information can be found here (http://archive.org/) from old assaying, chemistry, and refining books but I have not yet found a simple way to refine the whole circuit board without first spending many hours removing the parts first, got any great ideas anyone. David Green
 
Because it's not worth it unless your doing tons of boards. The pieces add up after a while and are fun to play around with. But in reality it's just not economical on a small scale. You would spend way more in time and acid then the very small amount of PM's and copper you can recover. What's your end game? After the chips, pins and MLCC's are removed all you have is copper/tin/al/iron left anyway. Unless it's a gold plated board. Very rare.
