I recently deplated a small quantity of gold using Steve's cell process. I washed the gold powder in hot hydrochloric acid and then several times with water. The remaining powder was dried and weighed 11 grams. I fully understand that the gold should be further refined with AR, however I was curious about the yield of the black powder. I sent this to a refiner who came back to me and advised that the powder ran 35% and offered me a very low price for it. I think his assay if very low. Comments would be appreciated
 
You are so close to having it done for yourself why take their word on your material.

With a bit of HCL/chlorine bleach and some SMB you can know for certain. :mrgreen:
 
I agree with your comment and normally this is what I do. I was just fishing for what some refiners tell me. I know it is higher.
