Hello everyone! I have some Rhodium black cemented out of plating solutions with zinc, filtered and washed on filter. I would like to ignite it to burn out filter paper, then boil in nitric to get rid of basic metals and silver, if any, then wash, dry, and reduce in hydrogen oven. So, is it safe to calcine Rh black with filter paper, can it be volatilized due to carbonyl formation or something? As long as I know, no volatiles are forming, but it’s always wise to ask professionals. Thanks in advance.
