Some of us do and have, they have a small amount of PM's in them. There are components in them that can be used by other people like hobbiests such as the motors.

I do. I like the printers. There is always at least one hobby motor and usually some ink cartridges. The ink cartridges can be sold for around $1-$3 each and there are usually gold plated contacts inside the printer where the cartridge connects. Gold plated springs & pins. The satellite TV receivers usually have a chip or two with gold also. Gold is everywhere in electronics, you just need to find it!
