Sodium Sulfite grades?

Photo grade what? Sodium sulfite? Whatever chemical you're talking about, photo grade is not as pure as reagent grade. However, the reagent grade probably costs 10 times more and I know of no refining processes that requires reagent grade chemicals.
 
I think photo grade is a notch better than technical grade, in this case. I bought a few bags in the last year and don't think I paid close to $5/#.
 
have you tried the stump remover Bondie? buy it at most high end building outlet retailers. its the same as sodium metabisulfite.
 
I think they changed some of that Bonide Stump Out. Read the ingredients to make sure of what it is made of.
