Needless to say, I heartily endorse the admonition to read Hoke's book. Virtually all of the commonly asked questions would not be asked if readers would simply follow that advice. Further, they'd avoid irritating the hell out of me, as it's perfectly clear that many refuse to do so, so they waste the time of readers, hoping to be spoon fed the information they seek, instead of trying to better themselves. That's foreign to me, as I tend to do my own investigating.Harold

Though i agree with Harald, exceptions need to made for those whom dont have the mind set or ability to obtain the required information from just reading, I for one am a visual learner and partly book learner. Not everythng taught can be considered timely, nor is that deemed timely of the capacity of those that are taught it. Unfortunatly not everyone learns at the same rate or capacity as others, I for one have had to be spoon fed until it `clicks`.

`They` say all our information is stored in our brain as pictures.

You sir also have an analytical mind which enables you to quickly piece together the pictures into a working scenario.

Big difference between a checker player versus a chess player which is a world class game, the two minds view problem solving differently.

Our poster is a chemist, I assume that he earned a degree which required study and research. No reason not to apply those attributes to the vast amount of information already posted on this forum.

Adnan,
I'd like you to look at your request much the same as if you asked for someone to talk to you about playing the piano until you had the necessary skills to do so yourself. That, of course, isn't going to happen. You will NOT learn to refine by talking. You will learn to refine by reading, and performing tests as outlined in Hoke's book, however. I'm living proof that it works.

The best advice has already been dispensed. Start reading, even if the reading appears to be dull and boring to you. If you don't understand the basics involved in refining, you'll struggle endlessly, and eventually alienate the majority of the readers by asking questions that will be proof positive that you are doing nothing to better your knowledge.

Harold
