I recently built and started up a small CIP plant (Eco-Goldex) and came across this simple titration calculation recommended by A K Williams (basement chemist). The math is simple for dummies like me and I assume the formula is accurate…but would like to confirm. As follows:

1. make up 1 liter of solution: distilled water + 13.07 grams of silver nitrate

2. titrate as normal using 100ml of filtrate / sample

3. the ml of silver nitrate consumed divided by 10 = the % of free cyanide. Example: 1.5 ml of silver nitrate consumed = .15% of free cyanide

Second question: to maintain even a tiny percentage of free cyanide in the last tank is adequate yes?

Thanks in advance
