I keep reading about how using a diffuser will help the chemical processes work faster. So could I use an air diffuser from a fish tank? My only other idea was to make a small air pipe that had a ton of hole in it and putting it at the bottom of the bucket. But the diffuser would be easier.

Glass frit could work fine, its used in lab scrubbers. You can also buy filtering funnel with glass frit or gladd frit alone (it's much cheapier). It's made of borosilicate glass, at least distributor says so. What kind of reaction would you like to carry?

I was thinking about getting a couple of diffusers and using them on everything. That way the mixtures would always be agitated and get done a lot sooner. Heat would probably work better but maybe not as safe?

I have tons of ideas... I probably think about stuff way to much... :)

I use the blue stone ones from Wal-Mart. 2 for $ 1.79 ( Aqua Culture brand ). I've try others but they come apart after a few days. The one i have now is about 2 months old and runs in AP 24 hours a day.

I tried one of thiers and it started to dissolve on me. I did use one of thier long ones about 3" long and it lasted for a while in AP on the crock pot. I will have to find those round ones again and try them out and make sure it wasn't my imagination.

Do you use heat ? I don't heat mine it stays about 68 to 72 degrees. Takes a long time but it doesn't fume near as bad and all i have is time.
