Viewsonic flat panel gold plated?

Does anyone happen to know if this is gold plating? Came from an old ViewSonic flat panel. This is support casing for the fluorescent lamps. I don’t know why it would be gold plated but it sure is pretty. . Thank you for your thoughts.

Hard to tell from the picture, but it looks like brass to me.
