Attention gold refiners, scrap buyers, and all other businesses dealing with gold scrap. Melee diamonds have increased in value significantly and can be an enormous source of profit for your business. First off do not disregard or discard melee diamonds, it shocks me when I here of gold professionals who do not perform some form of stone removal to their scrap. Diamond melee adds up very fast in carat weight and in value. No melee lot is too big or too small, you are leaving thousands of dollars on the table so please call me today and let me explain to you how I can help you make more money.

My company has been in the diamond business for 30 years with offices in NY, LA, FLORIDA and abroad. We are willing to come and see you in person anywhere in the USA if you have a melee lot that calls for it. We are happy to provide customer references upon request, so please don't hesitate to contact me.

That is a good question, because every single gold buyer I have ever seen states "Highest amount paid!" or some variation of that. And of course they CAN'T all pay the highest,or top $.One person pays the most, then it trickles down to the guy on craigslist paying 20% of spot because he knows he can get away with it,if the seller needs the money bad enough.

Noted, scrapman. There is no problem. But we need him to at least answer the questions other members have presented to him.We don't like "cruisers" or "trollers" here.If you want to be a part of this forum then you need to contribute as well as extract. For the most part,we are a family, whether we like the members of our family or not.The members that have been on for some time, have a responsibility to help watch over the newer members.
I just hope that sgalapo comes on within the next week and addresses any question that other members may have.It shows honesty, and dedication.

I agree. As it stands now his last visit was his first when he made the post.
That is much like what spammers do. He should follow up and answer any questions if he is serious. And then he wouldn't look like he is spamming.

Hi guys,

My apologies for not responding sooner, the board does not automatically forward replies to your email unless you choose that in the account settings so I was unaware that I got some replies until I came back now to check my post.

First of all thanks for taking the time to respond to my post, nice to see that the members of this forum are an active bunch. I have already received some phone calls from members of this forum which is nice.

To TurtleSteve I will say that TOP $ is TOP $. I would be lying if I said that I could overpay any legitimate and established diamond company on every item all the time but what I can say is that we will always be competitive. My company doesn't do business on a local level, we trade diamonds globally. Without offending any of the local diamond buyers in your area I would say that there is the minor leagues and the major leagues and we are major leaguers. That may sound like BS but its true. I welcome any of you to call me and allow me to tell you more about my company and offer you business references across a variety of industries. I deal with people in the gold industry, pawn, jewelry retailers, coin dealers etc. and am confident that you will find our reputation to be one of honesty and integrity.

Like I may have mentioned before my company trades in DIAMONDS, period. That includes diamond melee but additionally anything else thats a diamond. GIA/EGL or any other brand of certified diamond, old miners, euro cuts, old shapes, all sizes, all qualities all the time. Please call me to discuss anything you have for sale.

Let me close by saying this. I do not guarantee to buy everything that walks through my door or that is shipped to me to evaluate. As many of you know you can't win em all. Here is what I do guarantee ...

I guarantee honesty
I guarantee that when I say I'll buy it, its bought
I guarantee that payments will always be made promptly. COD means COD and I do my best to get checks/wires out the same day that a deal is made.
I guarantee that when I don't succeed in buying something that it will be done with respect for your right to deny my offer and that your diamonds will be returned PROMPTLY as it was received.

Alright well if you read all of that, thanks for making it through that.

Thanks
Steve

OK, first let me say thank you for getting back to us. It would still be nice if you could post a general price schedule or guide - any trustworthy refiner will state up front what they are willing to pay for what type of material. I understand this is a bit more complicated for diamonds and you'd want to see the stones first. However if your offer is the best, there's no risk in revealing it in public, right?

I do plan on giving you a call to inquire more about your prices.

Thanks,
Steve

With all due respect Steve as much as I would like to be able to post a general price schedule on diamonds it's really not a fair request. Neither is the comparison of Gold to Diamonds.

I don't need to tell you guys of course but gold is uniform and trades on an exchange. Tell me what % of spot you pay and its case closed. There is a reason why diamonds aren't an exchange traded commodity. No two diamonds are alike and there are numerous factors that determine what one is worth. Similarly with melee, no two parcels are alike. If I had one uniform price I paid on all melee parcels I wouldn't be much of a dealer. I've bought thousands of carats of melee and I have paid all kinds of prices. I bought a parcel this past Thursday for 170/CT, and a month ago I bought one for 80/CT and in that time I have probably paid every price in between.

I don't mean to sidestep your question Steve but hopefully my answer was good enough. Looking forward to speaking to you.

May I add a few comments in Steves defence. Diamonds are priced by the colour, clarity, cut and size, there really is no simple way to value a parcel of mixed stones and give a general price to everyone unless he advertises his lowest price to all. If you take a loupe and look at all the stones you collect you will see his problem, learning to grade the colour and clarity of stones is almost an art and can take years to get certified approval from gemological associations that are trusted.
I guess the only way to find out whether he is a fair buyer is to send him a parcel and ask for an offer,as a guide over here in the UK melée prices start at around $50 a carat with 8 cuts been slightly less at around $40.

Do you want to share this process with us? :?:
If you require payment for that process or want to engage in business like enterprise with members you must post in appropriate section of forum.

This is hardly proprietary chemistry... I think you need to try elsewhere if your looking for new business.
Those that don't know the process I'm quite happy to explain fully on the forum how to do this!
We share here, we help each other, we don't look for business, it comes because we know the how, why and when!
