The photo shows 3 m'boards and a PCI card. The question is: what should I do with them before I try to sell them? Do I separate out the CPUs and sell them separately? Do I remove various plastic parts, capacitors, ports etc to make it more valuable? With the PCI card, do I just remove the fingers and toss the rest?

Thanks!

If you plan to sell the motherboards you'll want to remove the RAM and Processor only. Most buyers do not want the boards mutilated.

Some people are selling edge fingers on eBay so, if you'll have enough cards to make a pound or so of them, you might remove the edge fingers.

The PCI card will still have value and your motherboard buyer may pay you the same for the card, minus the fingers, as he does for motherboards.

I would take some time and do research on the forum first. You are missing an aweful lot of things here. And you never throw pcb's away,it is not only illegal but you are wasting a lot of copper. Most of the members on the forum take a few select parts from mobo's and sell the rest of the boards the way they are.Unless you have a lot of time,or a way to process boards on a large scale it is not cost effective to strip every component off of mobo's.This has been discussed many times ont he forum,if a mobo contains a total of $5 worth of PM's and it cost $1 to process it,but you can sell it right now for $3+ and not have to do anything,is it worth it? That is simply a question you have to ask yourself. To people that can recover on a larger scale, the answer is yes.To most recreational refiners, the answer is no,it would be more beneficial to stick with a higher percentage gold bearing product like cpu's,memory,fingers....you get the idea.So considering you are not sure what is what on these boards,my answer would be a definite no.Take the cpus and memory off and sell them, until you get more familiar with mobo's.

additionally, the "gold corner" fiber Ball Grid Array (BGA) processors have a fair amount of gold in them, both in the lower, fiberglass part and the plastic caps have gold bonding wires in them when crushed to 200> mesh.
