Hi, new to the board and have a few questions which I hope have not been asked too many times. I am working at a community of 151 residendes and as part of the work I haul off all the old stuff. In just the last 2 weeks there has been at least 10 old computers thrown away.

So where do I start? Should I just start pulling all the boards and components out of the cases? I figure I can keep gathering information as the collection grows. We also get lots of monitors, printers, televisions and washers and dryers. I can only keep so much stuff at the collection point until the boss has me haul it for scrap. But the little stuff I can find a place to stash till the collection grows to a point worth processing.

I need an electronics recycling book for Dummies!

Thanks!

Save any cables with connecters on them too. The older ones are better. There's not alot of gold on the newer ones. Just cut the connecters off and toss them in a bucket till you've got a full bucket. I mean they are worth saving for gold scrap. Pull all the boards, hard drives, dvd and cd players/drives and if ya want, the power box. Toss the case except for aluminium parts.
