I bought a 88 cutlass the other day for 150 dollars.
I doesn't run but I was going to fix it up.
But now I'm wondering what the scrap value of it would be.

Converter 100-140, steel scrap(body) $8-$11 per hundred lb, aluminum wheels 40-60, magnesium are more, radiator 10-15, tires saleable?, battery $5. MOTOR 125, transmission easily $60, fenders, hood, doors, dash, seats whatever you can get if not anything sell for scrap with rest of car at scales.. the trick to cars is knowing where to take everything, and how far are you willing to tear it apart,, theres good money in junk cars but you have to get rid of everything, dont let it sit in the weeds... so easily $600, could be more if you knew how to sell off the pieces doors, fenders etc... med. to large scrap yards either 1.have all parts going to a specific place or 2. they are listed on a computer that took the place of the old radio 'call out'... you would have to be doing many cars a month for this service(around $700), but it allows guys down south to easily get body parts sold up north (more rust) easily, they usually hold cars for a few weeks, then crush them, so if your car was a 94 accord, it could be worth $1220-1400 or ? if scrapped because the parts are in more demand, believe it or not the most desired parts up north are for an s-10 pickup,,, northeners drive more U.S cars (detroit, Michigan etc) thus they need more non rusty car parts. hope this helps,,, Frog
