Hello All,
I stumbled on this site while searching out what I did wrong when reclaiming silver and gold from some circuit boards... I'm sure I'm not the only one that wishes they found this site well before making the mistakes I have made. I will try and find the correct forum to post my mistakes and where I'm at now. But first I will say something about myself. I like to tinker... with just about anything. I enjoy gold panning in the great state of MT, enjoy metal working. Have build my own smelter and forge. I really enjoy finding old tools and bringing new life into them. My latest refurb was a 100 year old anvil that my friend grandpa use to use for shoeing horses. That was a lot more work then I thought it would be but it turned out pretty good IMO... and now its my primary anvil for some amateur knife making.

Maybe in this post I could get some directions on which post I should place my F-up with my silver and gold recovery from circuit boards with Nitric acid... where is the best place to post that?

Thanks

I just love all things with metal... and I'm starting to learn so much more everyday. You anvil looks a lot like mine... I left most of the patina on it and resurfaced it.

I keep the impact surface well polished and that is about it.
Nothing worse than having a bit of work all beat up because your hammer or anvil has an imperfection in it.
Less time in buffing out.
