Over 700 lbs. of Telecom server boards from 80s, 90s, through Y2k.. mostly 80s..These are mostly mid grade boards with a few high grades but nicely populated .. I would really like to sell them all at once & not have to pay for shipping so hopefully someone is local... If not I was thinking $3 a lb. possibly someone could work with... Not trying to get rich here..just downsizing ...so talk to me

Cash for Computer Scrap is paying $4 to $6 per pound for low to midgrade telco boards. You'd have to ship it, but some low-cost trucking company wouldn't be that bad.

Really now... & I thought $3. a lb. might have been too much to ask.. Well if someone wanted to pay me $6. a lb. Id ship it anywhere for free.. Don't quote me on that though. lol....Actually Iam about to add a few more hundred lbs. to that...Maybe if I break a half ton...I might get some kind of discount... Sure...

Yeah, if yoou were closer to me, I'd be counting out 100 dollar bills to you. Tip. 3 dollars a pound if a free for all. I think if I were you I'd be doing a little research and finding a board buyer clost to you. I see lots of 7-8 dollar a pound boards in that mess.

Well actually have a few hundred or more lbs. Id incorporate into the deal but most of it have not been stripped of heat sinks, & various metals& unwanted plastics & such... lots of CPU motherboards, laptops, hard drives unstripped..Also Much of what do you call them....Daughter boards... Not to mention a bunch of server boards in different states of disarray whether it be chips fingers or whatever pins some missing some of this and some missing some of that ... But basically still holding great value..... Hell I got mother father daughter boards of every kind I guess LOL. I would throw it all in for next to nothing to have someone show up in a Uhaul & take it all along with this 700.lb. order.. Los of mixed chips also

STOP selling your self short !!!

Making a wild guess here - you likely have $5,000 - $7,000 in value on the low end & even MAYBE $8,000 - $10,000 in value on the high end

Just for one example - some of the chips in the pictures of your last post are worth $180 per pound

I will be sending you a PM (Private Message) so we can talk on the phone

There are companies out there that will pay top dollar for the stuff you have

For what it is worth I used to buy & sell circuit boards by the ton - I am now retired from doing that but will but will help get you pointed in the right direction to maximize the value of what you have --- we need to talk - so check your PMs

I have talked with leothlyn01 on the phone & provided him with contact info for different board buyers &/or processors so he can make an informed decision to maximize the value of the stuff he has - or - stick to is original offer here on the forum

I provided this info without recommendation to any one company so as not to "play favorites" to any one company especially being as how 2 of the companies are members of this forum& as well because I have done business with all but 2 of them --- they are all good solid companies to do business with - so the list is a list of companies to make contact with for options

The companies (& this list should help other members ae well)

https://boardsort.com/
Buyer - done business with

Buyer - never done business but totally trust

https://irtmn.com/
Buyer - or will do assay & pay out on assay --- done business with

Not exactly sure other then they say they take electronic scrap - I have only sold them pure metals

Well i recognise some types of your boards. They are quite common in telecom equipment. The future buyer should have a list with assayed boards and knows the values from part number.

Hope to see u find a good buyer. I only know buyers in Europe unfortunately.

Well actually a fine gentleman from the forum drove down from the Santa Cruz mountains all the way to my house. So I ended up selling him a 1000lbs. for the original price I listed ...$3. a lb... I was actually so pleased with the fact that he came to me that I threw in a few hundred more pounds...So We were both happy.. I really do appreciate the fact that Kurtac took the time to school me on current values & some different options I could take with all them boards ..Also,not to mention some great tips & advice on gold refining. Besides; being a super nice guy ... His knowledge on the subject is beyond...But You all know that.. I appreciate all the input & I am sure to be posting again..

Awesome & thank you for the update (y)

I was planning to call you again this weekend to see how it was going but now I don't have to :D;)

We did talk about the guy from Santa Cruz (that's a member) & as I said he may be your best option & my only intent was to provide you other options so you could make an informed decision

It is always good to hear when 2 members here make a deal with both members going away happy with the deal made :love:

Was the (fair market) values worth more then the $3/pound - yes - a lot more - but sometimes short & sweet (he came to you) then the hassle to ship to the top dollar market

Thanks for the list. Back in the '90s Handy & Harmon in Chicago processed my ewaste. There was another area company that competed with them that charged similarly. They charged $1.10/# then paid out on the gold and silver as I recall. I guess I'm just waxing nostalgic, wondering if anyone remembers them.

Thank you Leothlyn01 for the sale of your boards ! Gentleman is a stretch, but I'll take a compliment. I'm just a farm boy from central Ohio having fun with a hobby ( yes, living in the Santa cruz mtns the last 30 years). I'll be looking for a recycler in the bay area to forward the boards onto at some point as it is too much for me to process. Leothlyn01 was more than fair, and a great guy to meet as well!
I'm hoping to touch base with Kurt and thank him for his expertise also. It is good to meet up with fellow enthusiasts.
Are there any local groups or meet ups in the bay area that anyone knows of?
I love taking apart old stuff mostly to see how it was made. see attached pic. the fun things you find in 70's HP stuff.
