Electro deposition of palladium from a K2PdCl6 solution, would it deposit as metal palladium or as sludge of some other form of palladium.
This is just a hypothetical question, I am wondering if palladium grows as a crystal like silver from this solution or will it just plate out with no crystal formation :?:

Let's start from this
To electrodeposit palladium, as well as "base" metals
very specific conditions are needed, including:
pH, concentration, additives, temperature, current density
anodes (generally palladium or platinum). After you
get experienced, maybe you will see nice palladium..

Hi Lino1406
I didn't think it would be as easy as growing a silver crystal.silvercrystal 108x100.jpg

so what are the possible conditions,pH, concentration, additives, temperature, current density,to start some experiments ?

Some Pd Plating Solutions from the Metal Finishing Guidebook, 2004 Edition

P-Salt/Sulfamate
Pd as Pd(NH3)2(NO2)2, 10-20 g/l
Ammonium sulfamate, 100 g/l
NH4OH to pH 7.5-8.5
Temp, 25-35C
CD, 0.1 - 2.0 A/dm2
Anodes, platinized

Palladosamine Chloride
Pd as Pd(NH3)4Cl, 10-20 g/l
NH4Cl, 60-90 g/l
NH4OH to pH 8.0-9.5
Temp, 25-50C
CD, 0.1-2.5 A/dm2

Acid Chloride
Pd as PdCl2, 50 g/l
NH4Cl, 30 g/l
HCl to pH 0.1-0.5
Temp, 40-50C
CD, 0.1-1.0 A/dm2
Anodes, pure Pd

thanks GSP
look like the easiest to try first is:
Acid Chloride
Pd as PdCl2, 50 g/l
NH4Cl, 30 g/l
HCl to pH 0.1-0.5
Temp, 40-50C
CD, 0.1-1.0 A/dm2
Anodes, pure Pd
