The sulfuric cell is one of the most discussed topics on the forum. You'll just have to wade through the info and then ask questions. Please note that there is a great tendency on the forum to drift off the subject.
Basically, the solution is composed of concentrated sulfuric acid (about 95%) with about 5% water added. You need a power supply that will provide about 6V, more or less. The anode (+) is the gold plated material you want to strip. The cathode (-) can be various different metals - I prefer mild steel. The removed gold falls to the bottom as a dark powder, which is collected using various methods. Concentrated sulfuric is very dangerous if you don't handle it right.
