gold will not precipitate

The colloid are already metallic.
You'll need to redissolve it.
But it will be incredibly little.
Micrograms at best.
I've been reading that gold dissolves into Aucl4 which is too strong of a chloride complex for gold to precipitate from... Would you recommend evaporating to a syrup once nitric is neutralized, and rehydrating with water? Or can I raise the ph with sodium hydroxide to lets say, 2, in order to break this complex and free the gold up into free Au+3 ions?

The only success I am having is with copper cementation. Other than that, I can't get precipitation to work. I've read hokes book 3 times and have been watching videos for hours and hours on end for months now, and ferrous/smb fails every time.

Both SMB and Ferrous Sulfate go bad with time.
Have you checked them?
