    Hanovia Liquid Gold Yield Question

I have come into possession of three bottles of Hanovia Liquid Bright Gold. I understand that they may be of more value to ceramicists or glassblowers than as scrap, but I don’t know the gold content of them. Can anyone who has processed these before tell me how much gold is in a 100g bottle?

...as made them up for glassblowers. Which brings me to my next point: What you have is very coveted by glassblowers doing decorative work. Hanovia bright is the (pun intended) gold standard of putting metal onto glass or porcelain. When you open it up, it'll have a smell of either pine oil...

    What do I have here?

What do you think is in the "luster" or "mother of pearl" bottles? Just paint? What do you charge for doing something like this? How about turnaround time? Thanks Nate

    Gold Recovery from Old China

...4.4 cents ($0.044) per square inch of gold surface area, at today's $1227 gold spot. About the only other possibility would be a product like Hanovia Liquid Gold. It is probably worth a little more, about 6.2 cents per square inch. I would wager that the set of china is worth much more, as...

    Platinum on dinner plates

...cheaper than trying to get the Pt off of these dinner plates, especially given the marital situation. Though one time I did get a bottle of Hanovia bright Au (think of a piney smelling dip) that had a couple grams in it when I incinerated it. They probably make a platinum version that's good.

    All about anodes and cathodes.

...the danger lies. There are several patents. I remember an interesting patent that soaked the Ti for 4 days in conc. HCl and then applied 10 separate coatings of Hanovia Pt, with firing between each coat. Maybe 4metals has experience with this. If not, I doubt if anyone on the forum could help.

    Hanovia liquid gold

I have a question about hanovia liquid gold.. I use to work in a glass factory and used liquid gold quite frequently.. it came in 500 gram jars. and the gold content varied acoording to what part of the glass it was put on, the rim used I think was 22 kt and the body of the glass less. When the...

Gold thickness on glassware and pottery

...a $1300 gold market, one sq.in. of gold at this thickness is worth about 6 cents. The article also mentions that, if the gold is applied too thick, it will blister during the firing. The article was written by Englehard. Their product, Hanovia Liquid Gold, is used on most all of this type...

What to do with circa 50's gold powder?

I know Engelhard Hanovia bright!! They make a "paint on, bake on" platinum, palladium, and gold (and silver too I think) mixture. I know I've seen it, smelled it, and worked with it once before. A glassblower friend of mine had a nice big bottle of Hanovia Liquid Gold that he used for the...

What to do with circa 50's gold powder?

That was probably something like Englehard Hanovia Liquid Gold, that you fire on. Most all glassware and dishes with gold decoration uses this product. I don't think it's in the form of a powder, though. I seem to remember that the gold is in some sort of a complex with a wood resin. I do...
