I do not know anything about them. But for this kind I would believe incineration is necessary so the pregnant liquid do not get caught in the cards, and it will also remove any protective coating.

    Entire RAM sticks in Cu(II)Cl

After I filtered AR from the weird mylars I kept the filters and hold them to dry in an open container in the sun and then discovered the purle stain, I could see that stain on the AP filters as well also dried in the sunlight. I did not see silver chloride it was not visible.

    Saturated AP filtering tip

...Au per 5L of solution, thus 0,4g/L. After de-NOx-ing, you are left practically with same solution as you will get by dissolving bits of gold in AP. You usually obtain very very fine purplish-blackish precipitates that settle for more than a day, not to mention they pass any filter paper...

What's the final word on Kovar...?

...since I just process small batches in between my various other works and hobbies. Making the copper-HCl solution is fairly easy, and with AP to start with, it forms fairly fast. Using slightly corroded copper and thin wires works faster, because some of the oxides will almost immediately go...

Need help identifying this type of scrap

...to learn about it) Red cross: as I see in the picture, you have a lot of ENIG plated pcb, which has very low yield, if time is not a problem use AP process to free the foils. I don`t recommend burning PCB since it creates very toxic fumes and it is bad for you and your neighbours health...

Too bad to recover, Too good to throw away

For reference here is a link to what I posted yesterday https://goldrefiningforum.com/threads/laptop-touch-pad-boards-and-keyboard-traces.33749/#post-362147 To clarify what I was saying in that post - is there gold plating on those laptop touch pad circuit boards Yes - & it even looks...

Nope. AP wont dissolve any gold if done correctly.

Turn 999 gold to 9999 gold

...I refine are 1970's and 1980's testing or communications equipment with very thick plating which is why I doi it this way. When I used to use AP on this type of boards the plating is so thick that the gold in the holes for the component wires took a lot of work to get the gold out of them...

What is the best way to recover the gold plating from a block of copper base metal

The first that go into solution is the Nickel plating. And then the plating is loose. It might be better to just use plain HCl, it will in time turn into Copper Chloride and start leaching the Copper. But by then the Nickel plating should be gone. Edit for spelling

    electrolyte for reverse electroplating

I also love electrolysis, but i don't know of any other good option to strip gold from a copper, brass or stainless steel base. If it's only copper and brass: Melt it all together and run it in a copper sulfate cel. You will be left with pure copper and an anode bag full of goodies to refine...

Grey powder after filtering foils from AP, are you sure it's lead and not CuCl1? Lead is not very common in solder anymore. Only old electronics have it.

Acid Peroxide Process Information Thread Q & A's

Hi I am confused about this, is AP HCL plus H2O2 ? If so peroxide is H2O2 ? Where does the CuCl2 come from? I am a beginner, thanks. Also if somehow I added too much 3 percent H2O2 and gold will cement on copper how do I correct this problem?

Refining gold powder in hydrochloric acid and hydrogen peroxide

...is now isn't going to be easy to clean and wash and rinse. Did I do something wrong? Was I simply wrong to use this process for purifing gold in the first place? I tried researching this but only found examples of people accidentally dissolving their gold in AP. Then they would cement with...

AP solution for removing ic chips legs

I think where this comes from is the reuse of old solutions. Where old AP is used to remove the legs, or other base metals, before disposing of it. Struggling to make this sound reasonable here, but think of it as using every last drop of your acid before getting rid of it. I tried it several...

...them in closed containers. As far as scrubbing is concerned it depends on what you are refining. If you are collecting foils from circuits using AP, the hood is just to clear the work space and the fumes are not so bad. Unless your garage is close to someones house or their garage. But...

    Do I have colloidial gold?

...bit of peroxide just to get the reaction started. When gold foils are removed and base metals for the most part dissolved, you then filter your AP solution (which is really I believe called Cupric chloride at this point). Next you put foils into clean hcl, after some rinses, and add small...

Looking for advice as I am finishing the first phase of the AP process

Thank you. Good advice. That worked fine. I am working outside in a large backyard with small quantities of AP and HCL ( < 1 liter). Should I be concerned about the fumes? Naturally, I am not putting my face over the beaker. I am wearing all other necessary PPE.

    Optimal Acid Temperatures

...of solid metastannic acid if your pins are tin brass in their cores, which is a problem no matter what concentration of nitric you use. Cupric AP really is the best for clearing base metals from gold-plated pins. It can take some time, but the foils that result are very clean of base metal.

What do you make of this?

I'm expecting he is talking about the testing kits that you use to get approximate karat. And though I have not tried but, don't the HCl react to the Tin or Zinc in the Brass or Bronze?

    Intensive vs extensive processes

I understand, and I have no doubt they exist. But as far as I can see, I do not find them of any benefit. AP happen to be one case where it is beneficial to let the time do the thing - and of course very convenient to let it happen on it´s own. My point was, there are processes that can be done...
