Hi guys. I am new to the forum and have been processing scrap at home. I love doing this it is a great new hobby with so much to learn it keeps me very interested! I just processed about 13.4oz of the AMD k6 ceramic processors with all (Al) caps removed which is about 25 of them. When all was said and done and I dried my Au I had exactly .91 grams of Au. Does that seem about right or does it seem as though I have lost some along the way? Thanks in advance for any help/advise!!

Thanks
Tyler

That sounds a bit low. Here's a link to the thread you'd be interested in.

Thats kinda what I thought. I think i didn't add enough sodium nitrate while i was doing this and there for some of the gold cemented back out. I say this because when I pulled the broken cpus out of the AR there were very small bumps left on some of them where the posts where. So I kept all of it and plan on processing them again to see if this is the case. Go PACK Go!!! Sorry had to say that since i saw you are from green bay and i was born and raised in Wisconsin and just moved to CA about 4 years ago.

Lol, they'd better get going! As much as the Bears still suck, they are 3-0. The gold shouldn't be going into solution, what are you using to digest?

For the ceramic cpus I follow samuelA's video. I use hcl on a hot plate with 1/3 water and add sodium nitrate slowly until each time it is exhuasted. Then I decant the solution into an ice filled beaker and add a little sulfuric acid. I then let sit for about two hours and filter solution. Then I drop with SMB and let sit over night. The next day I syphon of the solution and wash 3x with water 3x with hcl and 3x again with water and dry. And yeah they better!!!! Too many injuries!!!
