those are some very nice boards. very rich in PM's by computer standards. those are milspec, although pretty common, still much better than consumer computer scrap. boardsort should add a new category for those types of boards. i imagine that theres not a niche because the ratio of that type of scrap to consumer grade electronics is very low. i would try to do a toll processing with a willing member rather than sell them outright. the reason i say this is because the total value of the boards cant really be calculated with any accuracy. if you sell them outright, you may lose on the deal. personally, i would go with a trusted member if you dont want to process them your self.

I would think because of the high volume of chips they would fall under telcom boards selling to board sort

I recently processed black chips like those on left side of second photo from top. They do have nice amount of gold bonding wires.

Have you checked to see if the traces are gold? I may be interested, if you did have a price.

Yeah Geo, I am not in the refining business myself I am more a collector then anything. This to me would seem like a small lot to have someone do a toll process, but then again this is still a whole new world for me. Total weight is only 48lbs Wouldn't the cost outweigh the reward?

Take a razor blade and scrap a trace or two, that's how I find out....

depends on the location and/or shipping cost. thats the beauty of toll refining. its based on a percentage, which benefits you (because you get refined gold back) and benefits the other member who may be in need of the extra gold and/or cash. there are members that live near you, im sure. you will have to pay shipping to boardsort. so if you can find a member close enough to deliver, you have already saved a hundred dollars. since you dont have and expected yield, it would seem to me like an incredible risk selling for a set price by weight. if you can get more of this type material, this batch could give you a baseline on what to expect in the future.
