I am fairly new to the forum and think its great. I completed my first silver recovery a couple of weeks ago from contacts and produced a 1 kilo silver bar, now I am hooked.... I have ordered a 4' fume hood and I am waiting till it gets here before any further attempts but have accumulated all the chemicals and items like a furnace to proceed.... Anyway, I collect old school car amplifiers and have 2 CB's from amps that I use for parts that I would like to recover from when the fume hood gets here.... They are 2 layer boards and was wondering what you guys thought would be the best way to process these boards.... Thanx.... Keith

I thought that since they are 2 layer boards that simply scraping the gold off and processing it with other items would be easier than processing it like typically is done with CB's

You need to see the gold thickness first. Then you can make your decision. Take a pencil eraser and rub it on the gold. If it rubs though it pretty quick than its thin plating If it doesn't than its thicker. If you want to process them remove the components first with a heat gun then put the whole board in AP. After that hope it comes off in larger pieces not gold dust.
