a total newbie and I have questions.

1. Hokes book, does it go into detail about recovering metals from computers.

2.I put some pcbs in a mix of muriatic acid and clorox and the liquid turned green after taking the gold colored things(fingers?) off the pcbs. Is that copper causing that?

3. Where are these chemicals available, and beakers and pipettes and glass mixing rods. Either I live in a very backward place, or DHS has closed all the laboratory supply stores. Is edmund scientific a place to order from?

I know this sounds disjointed as all get out, but I'm trying to understand the process. I've watched Lazersteves' videos about 20 times each and am still at a wall.

When Hoke wrote that book, there were no computers....

But, the basics are still the same.

thanx, I wasn't aware of that. I just got done watching Steves' video about washing the fingers and it seems I wasn't paying attention to the fact he was using muriatic and peroxide to seperate the gold from the fingers. Just my mistake.
