There has to be more to the story physiologically… There has to be some sort of vascular compromise of the leg, you wouldn’t have a trapped collection of acid under the skin with healing over top, that just wouldn’t happen.
I’ve read a lot of the posts about danger… One thing I think is really interesting is we talk a lot about the burns from sulfuric acid or the poisonous fumes from nitric acid… But chlorine gas is the most dangerous of all of them as far as I can tell. The parts per million required to cause immediate respiratory failure is scary to me, that’s why I haven’t used it.
The thing about wearing gloves is… Especially if you use some sort of blue nitrile gloves they will show you how many little tiny drops of things you get on your hands without knowing… Peacemaker is right most caustic liquids can penetrate through all seven layers of the skin and into the dermal plexus. The type of skins on your palms and soles of the feet probably would be slightly more resistant just because of the thickness and the glabrous skin… But the rest…forearms, back of the hands, fingernails are all great places for stuff to enter your system. I have seen sreetips mention platinosis several times, The medical literature is pretty sparse on this condition but it sounds awful.
