Ok - I have to admit here that when it comes to using a computer I am not real smart  I am real good at scraping them out & recovering the values from them  but using them is another story

I have been a member here since February 2011 & I have never been able to figure out how to add the blue "view topic" link to another thread to a post

can someone tell me how you do that

O.k. say you want to add a link to lazersteve's post on Washing the gold powder after using SMB.

copy address.jpg

Find the page you want to link to and hi-light and then copy that address (right click/copy)

or move the mouse to the blue title of the post you want to link to and then right click and copy link location.

from there just use the insert URL button at the top of the reply box and paste the link back in between the

Kurt,

I'm assuming you want to add a link to another thread or post in the forum. Here are two ways to do it.

First, the fast and dirty way. Find the thread or post you want to link to. Use your right mouse button and click on the title of the thread or post. You should get a pop-up window with several options. Click on Copy Shortcut. Now type whatever text you want and where you want to include the link, just press <Ctrl> V to paste the link. Here is a link to your last post before this one: http://goldrefiningforum.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=67&t=20188&p=206379#p206379. It's not pretty, and it doesn't give the reader any indication of where the link leads, but it works.

You can take just a little extra effort and clean up the link so it is easier to understand what it leads to.
First, where you want the link, type .
Then, just as above, press <Ctrl> V to paste the link.
Then type a closing bracket ], followed by the text you would like to appear.
Finally, finish it by typing
.
The same link as above will look like this:Re: Deal or bust to the reader.
Here's what it will look like to you:
Code:
[url=http://goldrefiningforum.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=67&t=20188&p=206379#p206379]Re: Deal or bust[/url]
I hope that's what you were looking for.

You can right click on the link you want to link to and select "copy link address" Untitled.jpg and then return to where you want to add the link and right click the spot in the text you want to add the link and select "paste" link example.jpg . Make sure there is one empty space before the link and one empty space after the link.
