does anyone know if ferric chloride is a good choice for an ore?
They are both an uranium ore.no the first of yours is a silicate maybe a quartzite and the other in my humble opinion a slag?
I do not think so.does anyone know if ferric chloride is a good choice for an ore?
interesting, see ha what do I know. slag is such a derogatory term these days which I didn't mean it to be btw. and besides, aren't there technically natural slags? They are both an uranium ore.
hm, any thoughts on what would be?I do not think so.
With an ore containing sulfides, chemical processes are VERY MESSY and leads to HUGE volumes of deadly toxic sludge. Unless the ore is HIGHLY RICH, almost impossibly so, I would NEVER use chemical methods for processing it.hm, any thoughts on what would be?
Nitric?
Sorry I do apologize for the guessing, And I am currently reading the required C.M Hokes, however its not written for ores... Im sure there's probably a thread, if only I knew how to use the search function... So I'll do that.
I was reading about colloidal particles in solutions. As I have plenty of them in mine, if you look closely im sure you can see them in the first couple of pics I posted. Im still reading about it but is there a reason why the tiny things dont dissolve? Shouldn't they be the first to go into solution?
I am currently doing a little test run with the ferric chloride. AI seems to think that it's worth a shot. Its a 2% solution so im not expecting miracles with it but its been going for several hours now and just like with the first AR solution, there are those colloidal particles again. So I know this a total newb question but if they are missable? is that the correct term? in AR and Ferric Chloride, wouldn't that indicate or at least give me a short list of what they could be? It's got to be a fairly short list no?
well thats very concerning, I mean... im cautious I do this out in the country and I wear gloves and a mask and I dont linger. im aware of the possibility of it getting on me... now and after doing a little research. However starting out with it I was pretty ignorant, still had the safety equipment tho, nothing has really changed. But I was mostly after any gold that I thought I saw in there, but im starting to wonder if I should see about Jason.. Ive seen a few of his videos and I should reach out to him, thanks for that advice. With an ore containing sulfides, chemical processes are VERY MESSY and leads to HUGE volumes of deadly toxic sludge. Any chemical tests I do on ores is with TINY samples, a few grams at most, to make solutions for detection. Ores are best processed with crushing, mechanical separation of the heavies, then SMELTING.... which is when you consult Jason of Mount Baker Mining and Materials (mbmllc on Youtube) for various mixes of flux and additives to eat up the sulfides.
