G'day all
I'm from Australia been getting awesome info from this site for a while now. But I've been in denial and have excepted the fact that I'm addicted gold refining and recovery from ewaste. I've have hokes book already but thought I join in the fun and learn a hell of a lot more on how to do things properly the first time 🙃

Welcome to us.

Here are some links for you to read.
I do not know how you obtained Hokes book, but in these links are downloadable copies of Hokes book,
which has comments on certain techniques nor considered safe anymore.

We ask our new members to do 3 things.
1. Read C.M. Hokes book on refining jewelers scrap, it gives an easy introduction to the most important chemistry regarding refining.
It is free here on the forum: Screen Readable Copy of Hoke's Book
2. Then read the safety section of the forum: Safety
3. And then read about "Dealing with waste" in the forum: Dealing with Waste

Suggested reading: The Library

Thanks Yggdrasil
I bought hokes book off Amazon 2 months ago and it has been a really good read. I do agree with you on the things she said are not safe anymore.

Well it is free to download from the links I provided.
The copies has been made by Frugalrefiner.

There is also a ChatGPT version available and under testing as we speak, from Marcel.

I'd love to have a real book in my hands too, but since I have the pdf it has never become a priority :)

Hoke is really very useful even now as she details many reactions and some of her testing techniques point you in the direction of some recovery methods we use today for gold plated material.
