The larger BGA (ball grid array) chip (marked “SHARQ”) is some kind of data bus output queuing / shaping handler – used to manipulate CRS-1 data packets in a very fast router. The other support chips in this system are designated “SPONGE”, "SQUID”, “SPRAYER”, etc. You’ll notice the smaller BGA chip is marked “SQUIRT”. The only reference to this name I find in my Cisco information is to the AM2 SQUIRT expandable digital call generator. This IC might be the heart of the call generator (?). Can’t help you with PM content in them, as I’m still working on building up enough of my own BGAs to make a test run worthwhile.
