Anyone know about these chips?

This chip appears to have nice gold but the gold bits in the attached pictures are magnetic. Is it still possible to be gold plated over a magnetic metal?

Sorry i broke it in half and extracted the gold looking bits from the other half already. They stick to my magnet with nothing else attached to them.

Looks similar to something out of a printer/scanner or something optical.

Pretty sure its's gold plated..... The bonding wires appear to be aluminum, but I've seen some that have gold bonding wires.

Kovar. An iron based pin that is used in many electronic items. Especially where heat is a factor. Example: pins from many CPU’s.
